Stanford’s Center for South Asia provides the following funding opportunities for continuing Stanford students:

CSA Graduate Student Research Fellowship
Open to doctoral students in Stanford School of Humanities & Sciences, and graduate students in Stanford schools of Business, Education, Engineering, Law, Earth Sciences and Medicine

Applicants may request up to $4,000 toward expenses related to research to be carried out in South Asia.

CSA Language Fellowship
Open to all undergraduate students, doctoral students in Stanford School of Humanities & Sciences, and graduate students in Stanford schools of Business, Education, Engineering, Law, Earth Sciences, and Medicine

Applicants may request up to $3,000 for intensive study in a South Asian language. The course of study can be completed in the U.S. or abroad and must be 6 weeks or more.

Open to all undergraduate and co-term students

Applicants may receive up to $5,000 toward an 8-week internship in South Asia.

Open to all Ph.D. candidates in Stanford School of Humanities & Sciences

Candidates are nominated by Stanford faculty members for demonstrated potential to advance South Asian Studies with their dissertation work.

Open to all continuing Stanford graduate students who are presenting a paper at the Annual Conference on South Asia in Wisconsin, Madison

Applicants may request up to $600 toward conference travel costs.
