Overview

The Center for South Asia offers a specialization in South Asian Studies (under the larger umbrella of the minor in Global Studies) that formalizes the study of South Asia at Stanford for our undergraduates. Students are encouraged to explore South Asia-focused classes within a variety of disciplines. Students acquire fluency in a second language and may study overseas as a part of their degree program.

CSA also facilitates collaboration opportunities for graduate students and hosts an annual Graduate Student Workshop with a central theme chosen by our graduate students. CSA partners with South Asia organizations to bring a comprehensive perspective for our students and provides resources for K-12 educators.

After Stanford, CSA students pursue careers in a wide range of fields, including government, nonprofit, business, technology, and consulting or go on to graduate school in law, business or academic Ph.D. programs. Learn more about our alumni
