In the future, I want to work to promote multilingualism in the US and abroad. Specifically, I am interested in implementing more effective pedagogy in language classrooms, promoting language transmission across generations in diaspora, and establishing language programs for displaced people.

Gabriel would love to increase the number of high-quality resources for less commonly taught languages, especially those of South Asia. She wanted to complement her studies of Bengali and Urdu with a language from the Dravidian family and chose Tamil because of the language’s prominence in diaspora and its cultural/political significance within South Asia.
