SGS Summer Film Festival: Haider

In this modern-day adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet, Haider returns home to Kashmir after receiving news about his father’s disappearance. He discovers not only that his mother is having an affair with his uncle but also that his uncle is responsible for his father's gruesome murder. Haider embarks on a journey to avenge his father’s death. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj (India, 2014).

Q&A to follow with Sangeeta Mediratta, Associate Director of the Center for South Asia, Stanford University.
