Center for South Asia is the quintessential Stanford University center that provides and deepens cross-disciplinary research, teaching, and learning opportunities about South Asia. Our faculty and staff engage with the diverse contexts of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka. To this end, we collaborate with a wide array of Stanford units, Stanford student groups, professional organizations in the U.S. and abroad, and also well-established NGOs, universities, and corporations in South Asia. Please see below the list of our close partners and collaborators.

We also provide research, funding, and career advice to Stanford affiliates. Are you a Stanford affiliate who is launching, pursuing, or planning a project about South Asia's history, peoples, and resources? Would you like your Stanford organization to be listed on this page? Please contact us at We will be happy to meet with you and discuss how we may help your efforts and assess possibilities of collaboration in order to further enhance South Asian Studies at Stanford.
